The iGEM Foundation is registered in the United States as a 501(c)(3) Public Charity. As such, donations to the iGEM Foundation by citizens of the United States are tax deductible to the extent provided by current IRS tax laws and regulations. Donations from persons who are not citizens of the United States or from entities located outside of the United States, may not be eligible for tax deductions in the United States and elsewhere. In such cases, donors should seek local tax advice.
The iGEM Foundation does not seek donations from persons or entities located in any jurisdiction that prohibits or restricts fundraising activities by international charities such as the iGEM Foundation, or that applies gift taxes on donations made to such international charities.
