Registration Fee

About the Cost

The Registration Fee for this 2021 Edition of the iGEM Design League is $ 1,500 USD per team.
This fee covers:

  • Team registration for up to 15 student members;
  • Access to the competition;
  • Access to the iGEM Academy for each student, advisor, and mentor;
  • A participation certificate for each team member;
  • A welcome kit sent to your school;
  • Access to the season finale and award ceremony.


Registration Deadline

Payment of the $1,500 USD team fee must be received by iGEM by July 7, 2021 at 23:59 EDT.
If you have any problem with your payment, please contact us at design-registration@igem.org.

If you need, you can include students above the initial 15 members by paying an additional $ 150 USD fee for each additional student.

Deadline to register additional students: Payment of the additional student’s fee must be received by July 30, 2021 at 23:59 EDT. There will not be additional fees for teams during the season.

Payment Methods

You can pay your team’s registration fee using one of the following methods:


Credit or Debit Card

You may submit online credit or debit card payments via the team payment form here.


Wire Transfer

  • Submit your team’s information over email to design-registration@igem.org with the Subject: Invoice Request for Team Registration - (Team Name). Please send your request in English, if possible.
    • Team Advisor name, email, and phone number
    • School name, city, and country
    • Billing address, if different from above
    • Team Name
    • Team Type (High School, Collegiate, Independent)
    • Number of Student Team Members (up to 15)
    • Payment Method: Wire Transfer
  • You will receive a reply with an invoice and wire transfer information. Share this with your school’s administrative department.
  • Forward or attach the wire transfer confirmation to registration-design@igem.org.
  • You will receive a confirmation over email that the payment has been received and your team is officially registered.

Check

  • Submit your team’s information over email to design-registration@igem.org with the Subject: Invoice Request for Team Registration - (Team Name). Please send your request in English, if possible.
    • Team Advisor name, email, and phone number
    • School name, city, and country
    • Billing address, if different from above
    • Team Name
    • Team Type (High School, Collegiate, Independent)
    • Number of Student Team Members (up to 15)
    • Payment Method: Check
  • You will receive a reply with an invoice. Your check must be in USD and made payable to iGEM Foundation, Inc. Print your invoice and mail with check payment to:

  • You will receive a confirmation over email when the payment has been received and your team is officially registered.

Be sure to allow enough time (5-10 days) for the transfer and check to arrive by the payment deadline.

Refund Policy

To qualify for a refund of your team registration fee, team registration cancellations must be sent in writing to design-registration@igem.org by July 7, 2021 at 23:59 EDT. All refunds are subject to a $100 USD cancellation fee. Refunds will be made in US dollars and processed in the way they were received except for wire payments which, at the organizers' discretion, may be refunded via check.

If a refund is made via wire transfer, any bank fees will be deducted from the refund. iGEM is not responsible for cancellations or the inability of a team to participate due to causes beyond iGEM's control.

Invoices

Invoices can be requested by emailing design-registration@igem.org. You need to include the official Team Name and the billing address you need included on the invoice. Please also include the payment method you will be using (credit card, wire transfer, or check).



Partial Payments

If you wish to make a partial payment, please email your request to: design-registration@igem.org. A member of the registration team will coordinate with you to process this request.

Please see below for our operating hours for answering emails. Emails sent outside of these hours will be responded to during the next working day. Payment deadlines end at 23:59 EDT to account for the full 24-hour period for submission of payment and do not include a guarantee of email response outside of the hours below.
