WiSTEM Magazine "The Equality Pursuit"
The WiSTEM initiative is launching a new magazine titled "The Equality Pursuit", which will feature written interviews with inspiring leaders and articles about gender diversity and empowerment. The magazine will consist of interview transcripts, articles, various forms of artistic expression such as short comics, photos, and more. We will also work with the Open Science and Accessibility Network for translations to make the magazine available to as many countries as possible. Our objective is to reach a wide audience through engaging and empowering content featuring inspirational stories and opportunities for promoting gender inclusivity in STEM around the world.
Stay tuned for the launch details.
We are looking for various forms of creative expression to highlight the importance of gender inclusivity in STEM through amplifying the voices of women and underrepresented gender communities (e.g. visual art, photographs, poetry, short comics with three-four panels, etc).
Our theme for the first magazine issue is ‘Intersectionality in STEM’. We would love to feature artworks that reveal the interplay of one’s various identities influencing the diversity of one’s lived experiences in STEM. We encourage submissions from everyone in the iGEM community and beyond, and we would love to hear unique stories from women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC artists!
Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information about the length and type of your submission as well as any questions. Thank you for your interest, and we look forward to receiving your work!
